    User interface of the telephone Function Key: This key opens the programming menu. If you are already loca- ted in a menu and then press the key, either menu-specific functions are shown, or you are moved back one programming step. Escape button: Pressing the Esc button during programming returns the tele- phone to its idle status.

    Connecting a headsets (not included in the delivery) Recommended: Headsets supplied by Plantronics with U10PS connection cord Connect the headset as shown in figure 1 . After this, place and secure the headset cord (3) in the cord groove (4) and lock it below the two cord retainers (5). You can use the handset or the headset for making calls.

    Configuration Fig. 2 Telephone numbers (MSN) You can enter up to 3 phone numbers (MSNs) via PC configuration that can be used by the telephone at the internal ISDN connection for the pabx system. Please observe the instructions in the pabx manual. When you enter an MSN or extension number in your telephone you are essentially defi- ning that your telephone is called using this MSN or extension number when a call is made.
  • Page 12 Setting the call signaling melody and volume You can define and set a specific melody and its volume for each MSN or extension number that you enter. If you are using the telephone at an internal ISDN connection, you can program special ringing melodies and a different volume for internal calls. In the initial setting of the telephone, 10 different melodies are stored for call signa- ling.

    Call charges You must apply for this feature at your network service provider. Transmission of the current charges can, depending on the service you applied for, be displayed either du- ring or after the call. Please note that only charge billing by the network service provider is binding. Setting the charge factor (charge rate factor) The setting of the charge factor can have a maximum of 4 digits.

    Operation Important notes Not all of the performance features described here are implemented in the ISDN stan- dard connection or in the pabx. Contact your service provider to determine how or if you must apply separately for the individual performance features for your ISDN connection. If the ISDN telephone is disconnected from the ISDN network, (e.g.by unplugging the ISDN connector of the phone or by switching off or resetting the pabx), several settings and lists will be lost.

    Accepting a call In its initial state the telephone will accept all calls, regardless of the service and dialed up MSN extension number. If two calls are signaled simultaneously the first one is accepted when you lift the handset. The second call is then no longer signaled or indicated in the display.

You can view these by pressing the button or the arrow buttons and subsequently have them redialed automatically. Select entry The last dialed number is displayed first.
