10-5. Disassembly and Reassembly of the Handle Section

(1) Disassembly and reassembly of Handle (A) [68A], Handle (B) [40A], the magazine cover
ass'y, and related parts (See Fig. 40.)
[Tools required]
• Roll pin puller
• Phillips screwdriver
(a) Disassembly
• Conduct disassembly as described in Sections 10-2, 10-3 and 10-4. First remove the cylinder
head section and the housing section, in order to isolate the handle section.
• Remove the Tapping Screw (W/Flange) D4 x 20 (Black) [57] and Tapping Screw (W/Flange)
D4 x 16 (Black) [39].
Gently pull up Handle (A) [68A] facing Handle (B) [40A] downward. Handle (A) [68A] then
separates from Handle (B) [40A].
* Be careful not to lose the following parts that may be easily dropped.
• Trigger Spring [70]
• Trigger [71]
• Pin D3 x 20 [76]
• Trigger Stopper [75]
(b) Reassembly
• Reassemble the magazine cover ass'y as described in Section 10-5 (2). Place Handle (B)
[40A], on a workbench, and then set all related parts on Handle (B) [40A]. Be careful not to
mix up the anode and cathode of Internal Wire (A) [60A]. Gently set Handle (A) [68A] on
Handle (B) [40A], while carefully ensuring that each part remains fixed in the proper position.
• Tighten the three tapping screws (two kinds).
Note that tightening the Tapping Screw (W/Flange) D4 x 20 (Black) [57] instead of the Tapping
Screw (W/Flange) D4 x 16 (Black) [39] may damage the screw boss of Handle (A) [68A].
Therefore, be careful about the screw length.
Tighten the screw by aligning it with the female threaded portion of the handle at reassembly.
• Do not disassemble the Trigger Stopper [75]. (Repeated disassembly and reassembly may
damage the press-fitting part.)
• Cord Cover Plate [72]
• Actuater Ass'y
• Terminal Support [69]
• Packing [19]
-42-
• Stopper Spring (B)
• Lock Nut M4 (Black) [63]
