    • Protect the scale against hard knocks, temperature fluctuations and heat sources which are too close (e.g. stoves, heating radiators). • Do not drop the scale or drop any objects on it. • Do not step or stand on the scale when your body and/or feet are wet, for example after taking a bath or shower.

    • On delivery, the scale is set to “inch” and “lb”. To the rear of the scale, there is a button where you can select “pound”, “stone” and “kilogram” (lb, st, kg).     5. Batteries WARNING: • Swallowing batteries and/or battery fluid can be extremely dangerous. Keep the battery and scale out of the reach of children. Should a child, or any other person swallow a battery and/or battery fluid, please call 911 immediately. • Should battery fluid leak and come into contact with your eyes or skin, immediately rinse with plenty of clean water.

    Measuring weight only Press the “ON” key on your scale. The entire display is shown (Fig. 1) until “0.0” (Fig. 2) is displayed. Stand on the scale without moving and distribute your weight evenly on both legs. The scale immediately begins to measure your weight. Your measured weight is displayed shortly after this (Fig.

    Attention: Please do not confuse bone mass with bone density. Bone density can be determined only by means of a medical examination (e.g. computer tomography, ultrasound). It is therefore not possible to draw conclusions concerning changes to the bones and bone hardness (e.g. osteoporosis) using this scale. Little influence can be exerted on bone mass, but it will vary slightly within the influencing factors (weight, height, age, gender).

    4. El principio de medición Esta báscula funciona según el principio de Análisis de Impedancia Bioeléctrica o A.I.B. Esto permite la medición de relaciones físicas en unos cuantos segundos por medio de una señal imperceptible e inocua desde los con- ductores en la báscula.
