troubleshooting guide
Problem
Kettle not operating.
Display screen blank/Selected
temperature not shown on display
Keep Warm not functioning.
Kettle boiling instead of going into
Keep Warm function.
Selected Temperature not shown
on display.
Kettle not switching off automatically
after boiling.
Long Switch Off Time.
Long Switch Off Time or Switching Off
too early.
Incorrect Temperature Reading.
Kettle switching on and off during use.
Water splashing out of spout area.
Kettle stopped working during
operation.
If none of the above solve the problem see "Service & Customer Care".
Cause
No Power.
Kettle unplugged.
Kettle unplugged.
Normal Operation due:-
To Keep Warm reaching end time
of 30 minutes.
No function selected within 30seconds. temperature refer to the
Kettle removed from powerbase.
100°C selected.
ON/OFF button pressed after Keep
Warm button.
Kettle unplugged.
Kettle overfilled.
Lid not closed.
Limescale/mineral build up on element
affecting operation.
Filter not fitted in spout area.
Kettle overfilled.
Boil dry protection operated due to
insufficient water in the kettle.

Solution
Check kettle is plugged in.
Check kettle is correctly located
to the powerbase.
Press the ON/OFF button to
switch the kettle back on.
The display will default to 100°C
when the kettle is switched back
on, to select another
"Variable Temperature feature"
section.
Normal operation - Keep Warm
does not function if 100°C
selected although button will be
lit.
Do not press ON/OFF button
after Keep Warm unless you
want to heat the water.
The display will default to 100°C
if unplugged.
Check water level is not above
the Max level.
Check lid is closed correctly.
Check that the element is free
from scale before water boiled.
Refer to "descaling" section
under care and cleaning.
Always use the filter and do not
overfill above the Max level.
Switch off and remove from the
powerbase.
Allow to cool down before
refilling.
When the kettle has cooled
down the switch will reset itself.
Check the water level is above
the minimum level.
