4 USE AND FUNCTIONING
The use of the DL9600 terminal is subordinate to the application software loaded.
Once an application is loaded, barcode scanning can be performed by pressing the
trigger button.
4.1

TERMINAL STARTUP

The DL9600 terminal turns on when the [ON/OFF] key or trigger is pressed.
For batch models, the prompt is displayed or if present the application program
starts.
For radio models, the following popup window is briefly displayed while the radio
connects with the base station:

POWERING ON
The terminal goes into low power consumption mode (display off), when it is no
longer used for more than a programmable timeout (default 1 minute - par. 3.6.3). In
this mode it can be awakened (resuming operation) by external events such as
trigger press, radio transmission, etc. see par. 3.6.2).
If no external events cause wakeup, after another timeout (default 1 hour - par.
3.6.3) the terminal turns off. Upon pressing the [ON/OFF] key or trigger, the terminal
turns on as initially described.
