Using the TLZ9L/TLZ1L Cassette Tape Autoloader
This indication will slowly flash in the display if the loader is
requesting a cleaning cycle be executed. This indication will
remain in the display until a cleaning cycle is successfully
completed. It may be temporarily overridden by another
message in the display from time to time, but will always end
up being displayed during any idle time until a successful
cleaning is accomplished.
When a cleaning cycle is being executed, the display will
indicate that the cleaning is in process by flashing the Cleaning
In Process indication in the LCD.
When the cleaning cartridge reaches EOM, no cleaning will be
accomplished. When this happens in single cartridge mode, the
magazine will autoeject, and the display will indicate that the
cleaning tape is at EOM by displaying the Cleaning Tape at
EOM message. A few seconds later, the LCD will display a
slowly flashing CleanReq message. Both messages will remain
in the display until after a new cleaning tape is installed in the
magazine and reinserted. The Cleaning Tape at EOM indication
will change to Cleaning in Process. Once cleaning is successful,
the CleanReq indication will be turned off. In 7/8 cartridge
mode, the magazine will not autoeject, otherwise operation is
the same.
When a cartridge in the magazine is found to be misoriented,
the display will alert the user that there is an illegal cassette
configuration, and eject the magazine. The slot icon for the
misoriented tape will be illuminated. The magazine will be
ejected with tapes in the position they were in when the illegal
cassette configuration was detected. The loader will not attempt
to put the cartridges back into their original locations due to the
possibility that jamming could occur. The illegally oriented
cartridge will be in slot 7 of the magazine when ejected.
If the magazine is found to be configured illegally (i.e.
configured with no tape in slot 8, and at least one empty slot for
slots 1 through 7), the LCD will inform the user of this, and the
magazine will be ejected. If there is a tape in slot 8, and there
are any other empty slots in the magazine, the loader will revert
to single tape mode. See Section 7.5.3 for further configuration
details.
If a tape gets jammed inside of the drive for some reason, the
display will inform the user that a cassette is stuck in the drive.
When this happens, you may, or may not be able to eject the
tape from the drive. If a normal ejection can not be done, try
doing the emergency eject procedure (see Section 7.5.3.6 for
details).
