The NOMOD file name must be used for the TLZ10. To create this file, use the
following procedure:
-using SAM, select Peripheral Devices
-select Tape Devices
-select the (DEC ) TLZ10
-go to Actions
-select Create Device Files
-select Create Custom Device File.
In the Custom Device File form change the Density field from BEST to
NOMOD and then hit O.K. This will create a device file with NOMOD on the
end.
Example, /dev/rmt/c#t#d#NOMOD.

Examples:
For the tape drive, set to SCSI address 4 connected to the main (core) SCSI bus, the
following device files would be produced in the directory
c0t4d0BEST
c0t4d0BESTb
For systems which do not support long filenames, the following device naming convention
is used:

Where:
#
specifies an arbitrary number to distinguish this tape
drive from others.
n
specifies no rewind on close
b
specifies Berkeley behavior
To list the device files associated with each device, issue the command:
ioscan -f -n|more
