7–18 DIGITAL TLZ09/TLZ10 Cassette Tape Drive and TLZ9L/TLZ1L Autoloader Owner's Manual
This message is displayed whenever the Emergency Eject
procedure is executed (see Section 7.5.3.6 for details).
Once a magazine is inserted, and the loader is not in autoload
mode and has completed scanning and come to the Ready state,
a cartridge can be manually selected via the front panel Select
button. For each depression of the Select button, the
cartridge/slot number will be incremented by one. The display at
the left shows the user selecting slot 3. After two seconds, the
flashing "Push ENT" indication will be displayed. If the Select
button is pushed again while the "Push ENT" indication is
flashing, it will turn off, and the display will show the next
sequential slot has been selected. Once the desired slot has been
selected, the Enter button must be pushed in order to confirm
the selection of the indicated cartridge. If the Enter button is not
pushed, the selected cartridge will not be loaded into the drive,
and the display will revert back to Ready.
NOTE: The Enter button must be depressed for a minimum of
½ second, or the cartridge loading process will not be initiated.
Once the Enter button has been pushed for at least a ½ second,
the loader will begin to load the selected tape into the drive.
Providing there is no tape presently loaded in the drive, the
display will resemble the one shown at left. In this example, the
#3 icon box will flash, during the load process for tape #3.
Once tape 3 is loaded into the drive, its slot box icon will be
extinguished to show that slot is now vacant in the magazine,
and the display will be changed to indicate the loader is now
ready as shown here. This Ready Tape X message will be
displayed any time a tape is loaded in the drive, and the loader
is ready to accept commands.
If a tape is already loaded in the drive when you select another
tape to be loaded, the display sequence is slightly different. If,
for example, tape number 1 is already loaded in the drive when
tape number 3 is selected to be loaded, the display will indicate
that tape 3 is selected, but that tape 1 is being unloaded. Once
unloaded and put back in the magazine, the tape 1 icon box will
be illuminated again (it would have been turned off while tape 1
was loaded in the drive). The display will then change to the one
above showing that tape 3 is being loaded, and proceed as
described above.
