Appendix A Main Specifications Printing Area Unit: dot a: scan direction b: sub-scan direction The postcard feature is not available in some countries.
Connectors and Allocation Signal Shape of the connector Pin arrangement Looking from the printer, I is the input signal, O is the output signal, - is not a signal. When bidirectional is ON, the connection adheres to the IEEE1284-B connector standard.
Page 249
Appendix B Connectors and Allocation Signal Meaning of the signals When the bidirectional is OFF: nStrobe(Pin No.1) The synchronous signal for the reading of data 1-8; needs the LOW active pulse. Data1-8(Pin No.2-9) For the 8-bit parallel data input, Data 1 is LSB (lowest bit) and Data 8 is MSB (upper- most bit).
Printing Data Combined Using Overlays You can use the overlay feature to combine data for printing. For example, you can first create an overlay for a blank form and store it in your computer. Later, you can send the data for the form to the printer to print out the data with the form. Here, we will explain the process by printing from Word on Windows 98 as an example.
Appendix C Printing Data Combined Using Overlays Enter a name for the overlay in the "File name" box. If you wish, select another directory other than the default C:\pageover. Enter a name (e.g. "Form1") for the overlay in the "File name" box and then click OK. Click OK to close the printer properties dialog box.

Direct Printing of PDF Files (with PostScript Software Kit/Hard Disk) When the optional PostScript software kit and hard disk have been installed, you can send PDF file to the printer directly for printing without using the printer driver. The transmitted PDF file will be converted to PostScript file after being stored in the hard disk within the printer.
