Compass Variance
Your vehicle's compass zone
should be pre-set to the region
where your vehicle was first sold.
If your vehicle is taken outside this
zone, it may be necessary to adjust
the compass to compensate for
variance.
Compass variance is the
difference between the earth's
magnetic north and the true
geographic north.
Find your current location and
zone number on the variance zone
map.
Section 1
To adjust for compass variance:
1. Place the transmission in
P (Park).
2. Press repeatedly until
PRESS TO CHANGE COM-
PASS ZONE (press to
change compass zone) is dis-
played.
3. Press repeatedly to select
the correct compass zone.
4. Press and hold until a
compass direction appears on
the display.
5. Calibrate the compass, if
necessary.
