Starting and Operating Instructions

The vehicle comes with a double-
sided key which is used for the
ignition, the driver's door lock,
tailgate and side storage boxes.
The key is also used for the spare
tire hoist lock.
The keys have a bar code tag
which is given to the first owner at
delivery. Each tag has a code on it
that tells your dealer how to make
extra keys. If you need extra keys
made, take the tag to the dealer.
If you lose your keys, contact your
dealer to obtain new ones.
Any new key must be
programmed before it will start
your vehicle.

III Plus
Electronic Immobilizer
System
Your vehicle is equipped with a
Personalised Automotive Security
®
System, PASS-Key
III Plus. The
ignition key has a transponder
embedded in it. The transponder
uses a radio frequency that
matches a decoder in your vehicle.
The system is armed when the key
is removed from the ignition. Take
care not to damage the key, or it
may not start the engine.
The system will automatically
disarm when the ignition is turned
in ACC (accessory), ON (on) or
START (start).
In order to discourage vehicle
theft, the system will not allow the
starter and fuel circuits to operate
if a damaged or wrong key has
been used in an attempt to start
the vehicle.
