Hardware Installation Please follow the steps below to complete the installation of the SR6600 hardware. 1) Remove the external packaging, remove the product unit and place it on a stable surface.

2) Install your hard disks into the removable rack and secure them in place with the screws included in the parts bag. This will protect your hard disk from any unnecessary movement. 3) Once the hard disks have been installed, insert the removable racks into the SR66000 unit and close the handles.
Chapter 1 System Login After completing the hardware installation process you must then set the RAID Level and Volume, or the SR6600 will not be recognized by the computer. You can log into the system to perform configuration and administration tasks using any of the three following methods: •The LCD control panel mounted on the device •Through a RS232 connection (VT100) •Through the LAN Port using the Web GUI Once the administrator has logged into the system through one of these three methods they can configure the disk array settings. The default login password is: 0000 1.1 LCD Control Panel Login The LCD control panel mounted on the SR6600 is the primary user interface.
1.2 RS2323 Cable Login 1.2.1 Login to VT100 via RS232 Cable You can choose to login to the system by connecting to the unit through the RS232 Port on the back. This method requires you to execute the VT-100 HyperTerminal program on the computer in order to access the system settings.
3) Configure the relevant data settings (refer to the table below). Once setup is complete, select File → Contentt → Settings and set the terminal mode to vt100. Once the installation is complete log in by referring to the following instructions: 1) Run the “GUI-Com2Http” program, define the necessary settings then check the “Launching Web Browser when server started!” box. Explanation of Settings 1. TCP Port: A value between 1~65535. The default is 81. 2. RAID Connected to: COM1, COM2, COM3… etc. 3.

2.3.3 Expand RAID Set This function allows the user to directly expand the capacity of a RAID set currently in use without having to delete the current RAID set before rebuilding. Notes : 1. The newly added capacity must have a volume set up before it can be used. This can be performed through “Volume Set Functions”.
Under “Volume Set Functions”, the available setup functions include: • Create Volume Set • Delete Volume Set • Modify Volume Set • Check Volume Set Consistency • Stop Volume Set 2.4.1 Create RAID Volume Set The SR6600-5S-U3 uses a difference interface from the other models so information available under this function will vary as well. For the SR6600-5S-WBS2 you will see: RAID Level, Strip Size, Cache Mode, IDE Host Channel, IDE Drive Select, Tagged Queuing, IDE Xfer Mode and Volume Name.
The default volume name will always appear as Volume Set. #. You can rename the volume set name providing it does not exceed the 15 characters limit. 2.4.1.2 RAID Level The SR6600 series supports RAID0, 1+0, 1+0+Spare, 3, 3+Spare, 5, 5+Spar, 6, 6+ Spare 2.4.1.3 Strip Size You can select 4K, 8K, 16K, 32K, 64K or 128K. Appendix A Frequently Asked Questions Q : How to update the firmware? A : If everything is working normally on your system, a firmware upgrade is not recommended to avoid unnecessary problems. New firmware can be downloaded from www.RAIDON.com.tw. Before updating the firmware, we recommend that you contact customer support or send an e-mail to supporting@raidon.com.tw. To update the firmware, log into the system via a RS232 or LAN connection then select “Upgrade Firmware” under “System Controls”. Q : How do you reset the password if you have lost the old password and can’t log into the system? A : You can change the password using one of the two following methods if you have lost the old password and can’t log into the system.
