ON
THE ROAD
As the operator of this motor home, you bear the sole responsibil-
ity for proper, safe loading. This section will guide you through
the steps neceSSaIY to properly and safely load your vehicle.
Before discussing loading and weighing, we need to explain
some common weight telms. We'll use abbreviations in our
discussion. These terms are:
GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating):
means the maximum permissible weight of this motor
home. The GVWR is equal to or greater than the sum of
the Unloaded Vehicle Weight plus the Net Carrying
Capacity. The GVWR is shown on the Federal certifica-
tion tag posted on the left interior sidewall of the driver's
compartment and on the wardrobe door tag.
GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating):
This is the maximum allowable weight a specific axle
and brake system is designed to cany. Each axle has its
own GAWR. When you add the GAWRs, they will not
necessarily add up to the GVWR. The GA WRs are also
shown on the Federal certification tag posted on the left
interior sidewall near the driver's seat, and on the ward-
robe door tag.
GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating):
means the value specified by the motor home manufac-
turer as the maximum allowable loaded weight of this
motor home with its towed trailer or towed vehicle. The
Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) is listed on the
wardrobe door tag.
