Clutch and Upper Drive Shaft
NOTE: The upper drive shaft may be left connected to the
clutch housing. Removing the three screws in the
clutch housing will allow the clutch housing and the
upper drive shaft to be removed as one.
1.
Remove the three screws holding the clutch housing
on with a T-20 driver. See Figure 7.6.
2.
Disconnect and remove the spark plug.
3.
Insert at least 18"(.5 M) of starter rope in the spark
plug hole to keep the crank shaft from rotating. Keep
some of the rope out so it can be removed later.
See Figure 7.7.
4.
Remove the clutch drum by removing the screw in
the center of it with a T-20 driver. See Figure 3.0.
