To remove the flywheel:
1.
Remove the spark plug by following the steps
described in Chapter 2: Maintenance.
2.
Remove the starter by following the procedures
described in Chapter 6: starter.
3.
Remove the flywheel by striking the crankshaft with a
brass punch. See Figure 4.7.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the module to
remove the flywheel.
4.
Inspect the flywheel and key for any signs of dam-
age.
5.
Install the flywheel by following the previous steps in
reverse order.
NOTE: Tighten the clutch to a torque of 100 - 150 in lbs
(11 - 17 Nm).
NOTE: Set the module air gap by following the steps
described in the previous section of this manual.
6.
Test run the engine before returning it to service.
