The Miele descaling cartridge

Only use a Miele descaling cartridge
for the Automatic descaling
programme. These have been
developed specifically for use in this
coffee machine.
Replacement cartridges are available
from Miele.
Please note that the Miele descaling
cartridge has a lifespan of approx. 6
months after it has been placed in
the machine and filled with water.
Do not fill the descaling cartridge
with other fluids or substances.
The Miele descaling cartridge contains
malic acid. Malic acid is found naturally
in many types of fruit.
The malic acid used in the descaling
cartridge is in tab form. The cartridge is
filled with water when it is placed in the
machine. The tabs gradually dissolve
over time.
Residual descaling solution can
sometimes dry on to the descaling
cartridge lid as a white deposit. These
will not affect the Automatic descaling
programme. If wished this deposit can
be removed using a damp cloth.
A prompt will appear in the display
three weeks before the cartridge is
depleted reminding you that it will need
to be replaced. Confirm this message
with . This message will reappear at
OK
regular intervals.

Please note that the Automatic
descaling programme will not work
with a depleted or empty cartridge or
without one. The coffee machine
cannot be used for making drinks
until a new one has been fitted.

The descaling cartridge can be
removed if, for instance, you need to
move the coffee machine. Important:
the descaling cartridge has a max. shelf
life of three weeks outside of the
machine. It should be stored upright, in
a dark place and at room temperature
(16 – 38 °C).
Tip: When replacing the descaling
cartridge we recommend running the
manual descaling programme once as
this will thoroughly clean the filter in the
water container.
Fitting and removing a descaling

Switch the machine on. The machine
will then register that there is a
descaling cartridge.
