Run In and Adjusting the Engine
The Run-In phase of the engine is crucial for the proper performance. If the rules are not running
correctly, it can damage the engine and shorten its life. Use during the running time is always the same
fuel (nitro with the same content) how you want to use it later. Although the carburetor factory default is,
you have to deal with the following settings and with the intake procedures. When the fuel switch places
or the engine under very different conditions (outdoor temperature hot / cold, high / low lying location,
etc.) entry, you have to secure at least if the full bolt is in order to prevent overheating and to the
right performance. Let the engine never run at full without the wheels on the ground attack.
Tipp
The Run In Procedures
During the first three tank fillings should be full and the idle adjustment screw clearly on the "bold"
(see explanation below). When accelerating should be slight delays and thick smoke, and the smoke
must cease if the model is gaining speed. At full speed should be a clear smoke from the exhaust
plume. Leave the vehicle on flat ground on a running track oval. Enter slow gas, if the vehicle is on
the line, and let the gas when you close on the curves. Enter again gas, if through the curves. They
will also get a feel for the tax reactions and the handling of the vehicle. If you are an experienced
rider, you can also run the engine by using the car against a wall, or else a fixed object and the
engine tank fills two long idle organs can (this With the Throttle Trim or the adjuster screw on the
carburetor idle increase, so that the engine is not out).
„Bold" an „Lean" Mixture?
The attitude of the gasifier is one of the most critical tasks while driving from RC cars, with the
nitro-fuel run. It refers to the mixing ratio as a "bold" when too much fuel in proportion to the share
of air sucked in, and as a "lean" with a low to fuel share. The fuel portion is about the full and idling
jet screws. The idle screw is located on the front carburetor rotary valve. The full-jet stands bolt
upright on the back of carburetor high. Both have a screw slot head, the start of the screwdriver
blade and as a reference line when offices. If the screws rotate in a clockwise direction, the mixture
is lean and vice versa. A pronounced "fat" mixture leads to late acceleration and perfor -
mance with thick smoke from the exhaust. In "lean" mixture can be the engine "swallow" before he
hochdreht then suddenly, or he may, after a short initial acceleration in the performance subside. A
lean mixture leads to undesirably high engine temperature and reduces the lubrication of the engine
parts inside, leading to premature wear and damage. It is advisable in any case, the engine rather
bold and never with to operate lean mixture to a hot-walking and to prevent any possible damage.
