Recording your favorite
CD tracks on a tape

— CD-TAPE Synchro Recording

You can record a whole disc (Video CD, CD,
MP3) on a tape.
You can use TYPE I (normal).
Use buttons on the unit for the operation.

Load a recordable tape.

Press DIRECTION on the unit
repeatedly to select "g" to record on
one side of the tape only. Select "h"
(or "j") to record on both sides.

Press TAPE/hH repeatedly to select
the recording side, then press x.
If you select both sides or the front side for
recording, press TAPE/hH to display
"N", then press x. If you choose to record
on the reverse side, press TAPE/hH
again to display "n", then press x.

Press FUNCTION +/– repeatedly until
"DVD" appears.

Load the disc(s) you want to record on.
If you have already loaded a disc, press
DISC SKIP to select the disc.
When you want to record an album from an
MP3 disc, be sure to press PLAY MODE to
select "ALBM", then use ALBUM +/– to
select the desired album before proceeding.

Press CD SYNC.
"SYNC" and "REC" appear.

Press z START.
Recording starts.
To stop recording
Press x.

To record a Video CD/CD/MP3 by
specifying track order
You can record only your favorite tracks using
Program Play. Between steps 4 and 5, perform
steps 2 to 6 in "Creating your own program"
(page 17).
Notes
• CD Synchro Recording is not available with DVDs
and JPEG files.
• You cannot listen to other sources while recording.
• When you press CD SYNC in step 5, the surround
effect may automatically change (see "Selecting the
surround effect" on page 38).
• If the play mode is set to Repeat Play or Shuffle Play,
it automatically switches to Normal Play in step 5.
• When you record from a Video CD, playback with
the PBC function is automatically canceled.
Tip
If you select both sides recording and the tape reaches
the end of the front side part-way through a track, the
entire track is recorded again from the beginning of the
reverse side.
