An electrical wall box should be pre‑installed with an Ethernet cable running from the box to an 802.3af switch. 1. Detach the Cover Plate from the UAP-IW. 2. Connect the Ethernet cable in the wall box to the port labeled PoE IN + DATA.

3. Place the UAP‑IW in the wall box and properly position the cable to ensure the Ethernet connection is not strained. Note: If the wall box does not have enough room to accommodate the UAP-IW without straining the Ethernet connection, replace the wall box with an open‑end or deeper box.

4. Fasten the top and bottom screws. Adjust the screws to ensure the mounting plate is flush with the wall for proper fitting of the Cover Plate. Note: Do not over‑tighten or rely on the force of the screws to pull the UAP‑IW into the wall box.

5. Attach the Cover Plate. Press the Cover Plate into position until the four mounting clips snap into place. If you are using your own cover plate, secure it with two screws.
Software Installation Download and install the latest version of the UniFi Controller software at: downloads.ubnt.com/unifi Launch the software and follow the on‑screen instructions. Step‑by‑step instructions are available in the User Guide located on our website: documentation.ubnt.com/unifi After you have installed the software and run the UniFi Installation Wizard, a login screen will appear for the UniFi Controller management interface.
