No, the Transport is working correctly. When a CD is loaded but is not playing, a
44.1kS/s carrier signal is being transmitted but there is no data – just digital silence. The
DAC correctly reports zero active data bits until the disc starts playing, then it detects 16
active bits and updates the display.
