3. Expansion of the UMX-02/0

In the event that the number of cards needed for an installation do not fi t into one UMX-02/0 (more than
10 cards), they can be inserted in several mainframes.
These must be connected by means of the
RS485 control bus and the audio bus, which are
externally accessible, as shown in fi gure 6.
To connect the RS485 bus, 8-pin RJ45 connectors
with a metal housing and CAT 5 STP cable must
be used (see section 2.2. Connection of the RS-
485 input and output).
To connect
the audio bus,
34-pin ribbon
cable must be

used. When
fi tting the cable,
particular care
must be taken
to position the
connectors
that the cable
can be correctly
inserted.

4. Front controls

4.1. Monitoring

4.1.1. Channel selection
Press the CHANNEL SELECTOR buttons (+ and
- ) until the channel required is indicated on the
display.

4.1.2. Monitoring volume

Press the MONITOR VOLUME buttons (+ and - )
until the desired volume is obtained.

4.1.3. Channel level

The leds bar indicates the signal level of each of
the 16 internal audio channels of the UMX-02/0.
