6. Connecting to a 1000BASE-T Port: The 1000BASE-T module

operates at 1000, 100 and 10 Mbps and supports IEEE 802.3x

flow control. Auto-negotiation is used to select the optimal

transmission speed and communication mode for each

connection. Use Category 5 or 5e cable of maximum length

100m (328 feet). You should also test the cable installation for

IEEE 802.3ab compliance. See "1000BASE-T Cable

Requirements" on page 34.
