T he cash register maintains totals of all transaction information. T his
information is saved in the memory of the cash register as long as the
register is plugged in to an electrical outlet or, if the cash register is
unplugged, the batteries are charged.
M anagement reports show you information about how sales are
progressing. You can run most reports as X reports or as Z reports.
R un or save X reports during the day to check transactions. D oing so
does not clear the transaction memory in the cash register. You can run
all reports in the X mode.
R un Z or save reports at end of day, end of the week, or end of the month.
D oing so C L E A R S the transaction memory in the cash register and
resets all totals to zero. W hen you are done printing or saving these
reports, the information only exists on the cash register tape or SD card.
You can run almost all reports in the Z mode.
To prevent someone from accidently clearing these reports, you can set a
manager passcode for X reports and a manager passcode for Z reports.
A fter the passcode is set, you cannot access these reports until the passcode
is entered. For information about setting manager passcodes, see Setting X
and M anager Passcodes on page 30.
T here are two kinds of financial reports that can be taken in the X mode:
an X 1 report and an X 2 report.
D aily report (X 1 report) - C ommonly known as a mid-day reading. U se
this report to print or save periodic readings of transaction totals during
the course of the day. A fterwards this report does not reset to zero.
Periodic (X 2 report) - C ommonly known as a mid-week or mid-month
reading. U se this report to print or save periodic readings of transaction
totals during the course of several days. A fterwards this report does not
reset to zero.
T here are two types of financial reports that can be taken in the Z mode: a
Z1 report and a Z2 report.
D aily report (Z1 report) — C ommonly known as a end-of-day/daily-closeout
report. T his report prints or saves all transaction data and resets all totals
to zero, except the R unning G rand Total.
