Problems and Solutions
Use the information in this section to find the source of and
solution to any printer problems that occur. Most printer
problems are easy to solve.
Determine the type of problem that occurred, and see the
appropriate section below:
Power supply problems
Paper loading or feeding problems
Wrong top-of-form position
Wrong tear-off position
Printing or printout quality problems
You can also use the self test to determine whether the printer
or the computer is causing the problem. See page 8-15 for
instructions on printing a self test. To pinpoint communication
problems, experienced users may want to use the printer's hex
dump mode, described on page 8-16.

Power supply problems
The lights come on briefly but then go off and stay off.
Cause
The printer's voltage rating
does not match the voltage
of your electrical outlet.

Warning:
Do not reconnect the power cord to an electrical outlet that has the
wrong voltage for your printer.
What to do
Check the printer and the outlet
voltage ratings. If the voltages do
not match, unplug the printer
immediately and contact your dealer.
