Typical Problems and Solutions

Most printer problems have simple solutions. Determine the
nature of the problem from the descriptions below, and apply the
recommended solutions. For more information, see
"Troubleshooting" on page 91.
Print quality problems
If you are having print quality problems, try the solutions offered
here.
Horizontal banding
Make sure the printable side of the paper is face up in the sheet
feeder.
Run the Head Cleaning utility to clear any clogged ink
nozzles.
Vertical misalignment
Make sure the printable side of the paper is face up in the sheet
feeder.
Run the Print Head Alignment utility.
Turn off the High Speed setting in your printer driver. For
instructions, see the printer driver's online help for Windows.

online Reference Guide.
Color Ink Low
The color ink cartridge is
nearly empty.
Prepare a new color ink
cartridge.
