Cause
• Minute ventilation
level has dropped
below the alarm
setting level.
• Excessive mask
leak.
• Connection of a
non-vented mask.
• Mask expiratory
flow port (vent)
may be blocked.
• Use of
supplemental
oxygen with a
vented mask.
Action
1. Reposition your mask and check it
for a source of leaks.
2. If the alarm persists, contact your
clinician.
• Ensure your mask has an expiratory
flow port (vent).
• Ensure your mask expiratory flow
ports (vents) are not blocked.
• Contact your clinician.
