5.8.2— Replace Fuel Filter
Slowly loosen water drain plug. See Figure 5-18.
1.
Rotate filter counterclockwise to remove from filter adapter.
2.
Install new filter by hand until gasket just contacts filter adapter. Tighten filter an additional 3/4 to one full turn.
3.
Tighten water drain plug.
4.
NOTE: Dispose of used fuel filter at a proper collection center.
See Subsection 5.8.2.1—Prime Fuel System.

5.8.2.1— Prime Fuel System
Place a shop rag near the air bleed screw to catch any loss of fuel.

Loosen the air bleed screw and work priming pump until bubbles are observed.
2.
When all bubbles are purged and replaced by a solid stream of fuel, depress pump handle and tighten the air

5.8.3— Drain/Flush Coolant System
NOTE: On 2.3L models, remove ten screws to release louvered air discharge panel on left side of enclosure.
Disconnect and empty coolant overflow reservoir.

Install and connect coolant overflow reservoir.

Verify that the engine is cool before removing the radiator cap. The cooling system is under pressure,
so steam and hot liquid can come out forcefully when the cap is loosened.
Slowly unscrew radiator cap.
3.
Locate drain cock at bottom left side of radiator. Rotate hex fitting to open drain cock. See A of Figure 5-19.
