RAID CONTROLLER

7.0. RAID CONTROLLER OPERATION AND CONFIGURATION.
RAID controller used in the NVR server X-2U/XX/R is manufactured by LSI. The use of RAID
controller enhances data security through the use of RAID level 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50. The servers
NVR X-2U/XX/R was used RAID level 5 because of the available space. The system is equipped with
a software supervising the work of the controller. Software "LSI MegaRAID Storage Manager" has a
number of useful functions: monitoring the work of the RAID and fitness space, automatic status mes-
sages matrices such as damage to the disk, dead sectors like. Messages can be displayed on the moni-
tor or sent to a predefined email address. Software "LSI MegaRAID Storage Manager"
provides many useful features allowing the server administrator to full operation and maintenance of
the RAID array while working remotely or locally directly on the server, replacement of the drive,
work control RAID space RAID rebuilding after replacing the disk.
All these operations can be performed while the server is running. Starting the
"LSI MegaRAID Storage Manager" is done with the "startupui.bat" which is located in the di-
rectory C: \ Program Files (x86) \ MegaRAID Storage Manager. When you start window will appear
with a choice of server. After entering the server address and press the button "Discover Host" in the
frame will be the server on which you installed "MegaRAID Storage Manager". We can read the sum-
mary information about the status of the server. Name hostname, IP address, operating system
installed, and that the server requires our attention.
