MIKRON III A
MAINTENANCE
--~---------------------------------------------------------~--
Fuel level is maintained in
the carburetter by means of
a needle valve controlled by a float through an arm.
The fuel
level should be
15.5 ± 1
mm below the
float
chamber flange, or
29,5
±
1 rom above
the main jet axis
with the carburetter in horizontal position and with the
fuel pressure within operating limits.
Check the
ne~dle
valve for
leakage and replace
it,~~f
necessary
in case
of fuel
level not
being within the
specified limits. Fuel level may be adjusted by means of
bending the float arm, provided that the needle valve is
showing
no
leakag~.
See
Annex
No. 1
for carburetter
diagram.
7.7.
·Exhaust System
Check
the exhaust
manifold and
silencer for
leakage,
cracks, burn outs and
other damage. Special care should
be paid to the silencer inside the heat
exchanger~
7.8.
Screws and Nuts
Check
all the
accessible screws
and nuts
for correct
tightening and tighten them, if required.
7.9.
Bowden Cables and Engine Control Linakages
Bowden
cables and
engine control
linkages have
to be
correctly .attachea
and adjusted so
that the choke
and
throttle
controls
may
freely
bear
against
the
corresponding stops.
7.10. Alternator
Alternator removal procedure.
Remove brush holder and
a sheet metal alternator cover.
,Screw out
the alternator rotor centre
screw till it is
bearing~
with a slight prestress,
ag~inst ~
locking ring
in the
rear section of the
rotor. Hexagonal spanner is
used for
this purpose. Release
the self locking
rotor
and
shaft cone
connection by
an impact
on the
steel
section of the rotor.-The locking ring should be removed
and the alternator rotor
centre screw should be screwed
out completely
if the locking
ring would not
hold the
prestressing force
and would start
sliding out of
its
groove.
The 618 560
alternator puller
should be
then
used
for disassembly·(pj,.n
dia.
6x40 and
screw). The
puller
is
supplied
as
an
option
by
the
engine
manufacturer.
Insert
the
'pin
into
the
apperture
instead
of
~le
alternator rotor centre screw and screw the puller scr:ew
in till stop. Lock the
engine crankshaft to prevent its
turning and tighten the puller screw till the connection
is
released.
Unscrew
the
stator
screws
and
remove
simultaneously both the stator and rotor.
