The
alternator does
not
charge
the battery
at engine
speeds
lower then
1 000 rpm, but
is drawing alternab:>r
field current, approximately 2A
from the battery. Switch
battery
charging OFF
during extended
gliding at engine
idle or after in-flight engine shutdown.
The
engine may
be"started
on the
ground by
means of
turning
the
propeller
or
by
means
of windmilling in
flight,
in
case
of
partially
discharged battery. The
battery will be charged again with the engine running.
