Alert Tones

An alert tone is a sound or group of sounds. Your radio uses alert tones to inform you of your radio's conditions. The following table
lists these tones and when they occur.

Short,
Time-Out Timer Warning
Low-Pitched
No ACK Received

Auto Power Off

Tones
Tone Name
When radio fails its power-up self test.
Reject
When an unauthorized request is made.
Four seconds before time out.
When radio fails to receive an acknowledgment.
When radio is in an individual call for greater than 6 seconds without any activity.
When the Time-Out Timer has expired.
Timed Out
(When PTT button is pressed) transmissions are not allowed.
(When PTT button is pressed) the radio is out of range of the system.
When radio is on an unpreprogrammed channel.
Powers off the radio when no user actions occur during a preprogrammed length
of time.
Busy
When system is busy.
