Type of Tone Indication
Short, low- Unsuccessful power-up.
pitched tone Radio failed self-test.
Radio not ready for use.
Invalid (bad) key press.
A key press was
rejected.
Time-out timer warning.
Transmission time will
expire in four seconds.
Short, Valid (good) key press.
medium- A key press was
pitched tone accepted.
Pressed emergency
button to enter
emergency. Emergency
entered.
Short, high- Successful power-up.
pitched tone Radio passed self-test.
Continuous, Transmit on receive-
low-pitched only mode. Pressed
tone PTT button on receive-
only mode.
Transmit inhibit on busy
mode. Pressed PTT
button while mode was
busy.
Invalid mode. An invalid
or unprogrammed
operation.
