  • How do I program my Motorola APX 2500 two-way radio?
    The programming of the Motorola APX 2500 two-way radio is typically handled by a qualified radio technician or system administrator.   • Why is my Motorola APX 2500 radio not transmitting?

    Your Motorola APX 2500 radio might not be transmitting due to several reasons:

    • System Busy: If you press the PTT button and hear a sound similar to a telephone busy signal, all system radio channels are in use. Release the PTT button and wait for a callback.
    • Talk-Prohibit: If you press the PTT button and hear a continuous low-pitched tone, the system is out of service.
    • Smart PTT Inhibit: If you press the PTT button and hear a continuous low-pitched tone, the channel is busy with the Smart PTT feature enabled.
    • Transmit Inhibit: This feature stops all transmissions. If enabled, the radio can receive messages but cannot reply. It can be enabled manually or automatically if the ignition sense line is off.
    • Time-Out Timer: If you hold down the PTT button longer than the preprogrammed time, the transmitter will turn off, and you will hear a continuous talk prohibit tone.
    • Out-of-Range: If you press the PTT button and hear a continuous low-pitched tone, the radio is not in the range of the trunked radio system.
