Loose connection
Open or shorted field
circuit in generator or
defective armature
Brushes not contacting
commutator
Brushes worn
Dirty commutator
Defective voltage

Check battery, recharge or replace
battery
Check C/B and reset if necessary
Continuity. Check circuitry and repair
as necessary
Check relay for proper operation and
replace as necessary

Test resistance of field. Check field
