MINOR TROUBLESHOOTING
If the scale is operating incorrectly, ask the following questions:
Question Corrective Action
1. Is the scale level? Make sure that all the feet are resting firmly on the
supporting surface.
2. Is the scale turned on? If the scale does not work at all, depress the Power
On/Center Zero/Tare key. Repeat once or twice. If
Auto-off feature is enabled scale will automatically
turn off if not used for two minutes (thirty seconds
with a zero reading) to preserve battery life.
3. Is the maximum capacity When the weight of the scale platform exceeds
105%
being exceeded? of the capacity of the scale (4.5 lb or 2000 g for the
SPC-2000 and 11.2 lb or 5000 g for the SPC-
5000 ), "Err" will appear on the digital display.
Reduce load.
4. Is the movement of the scale Make sure that no foreign objects are wedged
restricted in any way? between the platform and the scale body. Verify
that the platform is not rubbing against surrounding
objects.
5. Is the battery run down? Remove battery cover and install 6 AA batteries.
6. Is the AC adapter installed Ensure AC adapter cord is securely affixed to the
correctly? scale and wall outlet.
If any of these actions fail to correct the problem, the scale needs to be serviced by a
qualified technician.
CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE SCALE OR TAMPER WITH IT'S
MECHANISM OR CIRCUITRY AS THIS WILL VOID ALL WARRANTY COVERAGE!
