Removing The Boiler - Lionel Tinplate 392 Steam Locomotive Operator's Manual

Lubricate the Drive Gear and Worm Gear with White Lithium Grease. Make sure when
replacing Contact Plate that the Plunger Pin makes contact with the Flat Contact plate.

Removing the Boiler

From time to time it may be necessary to remove the boiler of the locomotive in
order to service the smoke unit. Removing the boiler is easily accomplished by
removing its mounting screws as indicated in the figures below. Once the screws
have been removed, gently lift the boiler up and away from the chassis.
