Install USB card reader on internal USB port
Some HP devices feature an internal type A female USB port that accepts special USB devices, such
as the HPAC USB card reader.
To install the USB card reader on an internal USB port, use the supplied EIO plate with the card reader's
cable routed through the plate.

NOTE:
Connect the card reader to the device before the device is plugged in and the power turned
on. The device does not recognize the card reader if it is plugged in after the device is turned on.
HP devices generally
To install the USB card reader on an internal USB port on HP devices, complete the following steps:
1.
Turn off the power to the device.
2.
Disconnect the power cable from the device.
3.
Remove the device formatter cover.
4.
Remove the existing EIO plate.
5.
Insert the supplied EIO plate with cable protection. Make sure to route the card reader's USB cable
through the plate.
6.
Insert the card reader into an unused internal USB port.
7.
Replace the device formatter cover.
8.
Connect the power cable to the device.
9.
Turn on the power to the device.
