equippedtomeetthe State'sstringent a nti-smog standards(inotherstates, 1 997andlatermodelyearequipment m ustbedesigned, b uilt,andequipped to meet
the U.S.EPAsmalloff-road,sparkignitionengineregulations. M TDConsumer G roupIncmustwarrant the ECSon youroutdoor e quipment e ngineforthe periodof
time listedbelowprovided therehas beenno abuse,neglector impropermaintenance o f outdoor e quipment e ngine.
YourECSmayincludepartssuchasthe carburetor, fuel-injection system, t he ignitionsystem, c atalyticconverter, f ueltanks,fuel lines, f uel caps,valves, c anisters,
filters,vapor hoses, c lamps, c onnectors, andotherassociated emission-related c omponents.
Wherea warrantable c onditionexists,MTDConsumer G roupIncwill repairyouroutdoorequipment engineat nocostto youincludingdiagnosis, p artsandlabor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisemissioncontrol s ystemis warranted fortwoyears.Ifanyemission-related p artonyouroutdoor e quipment e ngineisdefective, the partwill be repaired or
replaced byMTDCONSUMER GROUPINC.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Astheoutdoor equipment engine owner, y ouareresponsible forperformance oftherequired m aintenance listed in your o wner's m anual, M TDConsumer Group
Increcommends t hatyou retainall receipts coveringmaintenance on youroutdoorequipment engine,but MTDConsumer G roupInccannotdenywarranty solely
forthe lackof receipts.
Astheoutdoorequipment e ngineowner,tou shouldhowever b e aware thatMTDConsumer G roupIncmaydenyyou warranty coverage if youroutdoorequipment
engineor a parthasfailed dueto abuse,neglect,or impropermaintenance o r unapproved modifications.
Youare responsible f or presenting youroutdoorequipment engineto MTDConsumer G roupInc'sdistribution centeror servicecenterassoonasthe problem
exists.Thewarranty repairsshouldbecompleted ina reasonable amount o f time,not toexceed30days.If youhavea questionregarding yourwarranty coverage,

GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumer G roupIncwarrants tothe ultimatepurchaser a ndeachsubsequent p urchaser t hatthe outdoorequipment e ngineis: Designed, b uiltandequipped
soasto conformwithall applicable regulations; a ndfreefrom defectsinmaterials andworkmanship t hatcausethe failureof a warranted partto beidentical i n all
material r espects to thatpartas described in MTDConsumer G roupInc'sapplication forcertification.
Thewarranty periodbeginson the datethe outdoorequipment e ngineis delivered to an ultimatepurchaser or first placedintoservice. T hewarranty p eriodistwo
years.
Subjectto certainconditions andexclusions asstatedbelow,the warranty on emission-related D arts is asfollows:
1. Anywarranted partthatisnot scheduled for replacement a srequiredmaintenance i nthe writteninstructions supplied, i s warranted forthe warranty period
statedabove.Ifthe partfailsduringthe periodof warranty coverage, the partwill be repaired or replaced byMTDConsumer G roupIncaccording to subsection
(4)below.Anysuch partrepaired or replaced underwarrantywillbe warranted forthe remainder o f the period.
2. Any warranted partthatis scheduled onlyfor regularinspection inthe written instructions s uppliedis warranted forthe warranty periodstatedabove. A ny such
partrepairedor replaced underwarranty wiltbewarranted forthe remaining warranty period.
3. Any warranted partthatis scheduled for replacement a srequiredmaintenance i nthe writteninstructions supplied is warranted forthe periodof timebeforethe
first scheduled replacement d ateforthatcart.Ifthe partfailsbefore the first scheduled replacement, the partwill be repaired or replaced byMTDConsumer
Grouplncaccording to subsection (4)below.Anysuchpartrepairedor replaced underwarranty will be warranted forthe remainder o f the periodpriortothe
first scheduled replacement p ointforthe part.
4. Repairor replacement o f anywarranted partunderthewarranty provisions hereinmustbe performed at awarranty stationatno chargetothe owner.
5. Notwithstanding t he provisions herein, w arrantyservicesor repairswillbe provided atall of ourdistribution centers thatarefranchised to servicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Theoutdoorequipment e ngineownerwill notbe charged for diagnostic laborthatis directlyassociated withdiagnosis of a defective, emission.related w ar.
rantedpart, provided thatsuchdiagnostic work is performedata warranty station.
7. MTDConsumer G roupIncis liablefor damages to otherengineor equipment c omponents p roximately caused bya failureunderwarranty of anywarranted
part.
8. Throughout t he off-roadengineandequipment warrantyperiodstatedabove,MTDConsumer G roupIncwill maintainasupplyofwarranted partssufficient t o
meetthe expecteddemand forsuchparts.
9. Anyreplacement p artmaybe usedinthe performance o f any warranty maintenance o r repairsandmustbe provided withoutchargeto the owner. S uchusewill
not reducethe warranty obligations o f MTDConsumer G roupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthatarenotexempted bythe Air Resources B oardmaynotbe used.Theuseof anynon-exempted a dd-on or modified partsbythe
ultimatepurchaser w illbe grounds fordisallowing a warranty claims.MTDConsumer G roupIncwill notbe liableto warrant f ailuresofwarrantedpartscaused
bythe useofa non-exempted a dd-onor modifiedpart.
