1. Setyour battery charger todeliver a maxof10amperes.
Ifyour battery c harger isautomatic,
charge t hebattery u ntil t he
charger Indicates that c harglng Iscomplete. Ifthecharger isnot
automatic, charge f ornofewer than eight h ours.
FUSE

Iftheelectrical system doesnot function, oryour t ractor's engTne will
not crank, first check tobecertain that t hefuse hasnotblown. Itcan

CUTTING
BLADES
Periodically
inspect theblade and/orspindle forcracks o rdamage,
especially afteryou've s truck a foreign object. Donot operate t he
machine u ntil d amaged components
arereplaced.
Toremove t heblades, p roceed a sfollows.
1. Remove thedeck frombeneath t hetractor, (refer t o Curling Deck
Removal earlier in this section) t hen gently flipthedeck overto
expose Itsunderside.
2.
Placea brock o fwood between t hecenter deckhousing baffle
andthecutting b lade toactasa stabilizer.

Remove t hehex flange n ut thatsecures thebrade tothespindle
assembly. SeeFig. 2 1.
Toproperly sharpen t hecuffing b lades, remove equal amounts
ofmetal from both ends oftheblades a long thecutting e dges,
parallel tothetrailing e dge, a ta 25 °- to30 ° angle. Always grind
each cutting b lade edge equally t omaintain proper blade balance.

5. Testtheblade's balance usinga blade balancer. Grind metal from

NOTE:Whenreplacing t heblade, b esuretoinstall theblade with the
sideof theblademarked "Bottom" (orwitha partnumber s tamped i n
it)facing theground when themower isintheoperating p osition.
