SPEED CONTROLLEVER
Thespeedcontrollever,located on theleftsideof the
tractor'sdashconsole,allows youtoregulate theground
speedofthelawntractor. T ouse,depress theclutch-
brakepedalandmovetheleveroutof the parking brake
notchand forward to increase thetractor'sgroundspeed.
Whena desiredspeedhasbeenreached, r elease the
leverintoan appropriate notchto maintain thatspeed.
Toslowthetractor'sground speed,depress theclutch-
brakepedalandmovethespeedcontrolleverrearward
and releaseit intoa notch.
PARKING BRAKE
Tosettheparkingbrake,fullydepress theclutch-brake
pedal.Movethespeedcontrol leverall thewaydownand
intotheparkingbrakeposition.Release theclutch-brake
pedalto allowtheparkingbraketo engage.
Torelease the parking brake,depress theclutch-brake pedaland
movethespeedcontrol l everoutofthenotches to thedesiredposition.
Release thespeedcontrolleverandtheclutch-brake pedal.
NOTE:Theparkingbrakemustbe setif theoperator l eavestheseat
with theenginerunning or theengine willautomatically shutoff.
THROTTLE/CHOKE
CONTROL
LEVER
Thethrottle/choke controlleveris located on therightsideofthetrac-
tor'sdashpanel.Thislevercontrolsthespeedoftheengineandwhen
pushedall thewayforward, t hechokecontrol a lso.Whenset in a given
position,thethrottlewillmaintain a uniform enginespeed.
IMPORTANT= Whenoperating thetractorwiththecuttingdeck
engaged, t hethrottle/choke control l evermustalways be in the FAST
(rabbit)position.
IGNITION
SWITCH
MODULE
The key switch module is usedto
start and stop the engine.It is also
used to activate the ReverseCaution
Mode (bladesoperate while riding
in reverse). Insert key into the key
switchmodule and turn clockwise to
the START position. Releasethe key
into the normal mowing position once
engine has started. The headlights
will be activated in the Normal (and
Reverse Caution) modes.
To stop the engine,turn the ignition key
counterclockwise to the STOPposition,
IMPORTANT: Priortooperating thetractor, r eferto both"Safety
Interlock System" and"Starting TheEngine" i n theOperation section
ofthis manual f ordetailed instructions regarding the Ignition Switch
Module and operating thetractorin REVERSE CAUTION MODE.
I moveshiftleverintoneutral p osition, s etparkingbrake,stopengine
andremovekeyto prevent u nintended starting.
SHIFT LEVER
Theshiftlever islocated ontheleft
sideofthefenderandhasthree
positions, FORWARD, NEUTRAL
andREVERSE. Thebrake pedal
must b edepressed a ndthetractor
must n otbeinmotion w hen the
moving shiftlever.
IMPORTANT;Never forcethe
shiftlever. D oingsomayresult i n
seriousdamage tothetractor's
transmission.
DECK
LIFT LEVER
Foundonyourtractor'sright f ender, t he decklift leveris used
tochangetheheightof thecuttingdeck.ToUse, m ovethe
lever totheleft,thenplaceinthenotchbestsuited for your
application.
PTO (BLADE
ENGAGE)
LEVER
Foundonthetractor'srightfender, t hePTO(bladeengage)
leveris usedto engage powerto thecuttingdeckor other
(separately a vailable) a ttachments. Tooperate, m ovethe
leverall thewayforward.Moving theleverall theway
rearward intothePTOOFFposition disengages p owertothe
cuttingdeck/attachment.
NOTE:ThePTO(bladeengage) levermustbe inthe
disengaged (PTOOFF)position whenstartingtheengine.
CUP HOLDER
Thetractor's c upholder is located on thefendertotheleftof
theseat.
SEAT ADJUSTMENT
LEVER
The seat adjustment leveris on the front side of the seat. Usethis
leverto adjust the seat forward or rearward to a comfortable operating
position, See the "Service & Maintenance"section later in this manual
for instructions.
CLUTCH-BRAKE
PEDAL
The clutch-brakepedal is located on the left side of the lawntractor,
along the running board. Depress the clutch-brake pedal part way
down when slowing the tractor by changing speeds (Referto Speed
Control Lever). Depress the pedal all the way down to engage the disc
brake and bring the tractor to a complete stop.
NOTE; The pedal must be depressedto start the engine. Referto
Safety InterlockSwitches later in this section of this manual,
