Manually Configuring Your Internet Fax

If you wish to use an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that is not
supported by auto setup, use the procedure in this section to enter your
account information. If you used auto setup to set your provider
information, use this procedure as well to enter your user name,
password, and any other information required by your provider.
♦ If desired, you can store settings for two different Internet accounts
in the Internet fax.
♦ The Internet fax supports standard Internet protocols. The Internet
fax is compatible with Internet Service Providers that support PPP
dial up service and e-mail services that support POP3 or SMTP.
Information required to manually configure your Internet fax
To manually configure your Internet fax for service with your Internet
Service Provider, you will need to know the following information.
Please note that there is some variation in the terms that providers use.
If you aren't sure what information is required in any of the following,
please consult your Internet Service Provider.
♦ Your user name (also frequently called your login name, login ID,
or user ID) for your account.
♦ Your password for your account.
♦ Your dial up number (sometimes called access number). This is the
number you use to dial into your provider.
♦ Primary DNS server (or "Domain Name Server"). If your provider
has a secondary DNS server, you will need to enter this as well.
♦ POP3 server (or incoming mail server)
