Basic Receiving Method

Follow this procedure to set the machine for receiving faxes.
The default setting is <FaxOnly>.
Please note that any fax documents that have been received and are stored in the
memory will be deleted if you disconnect the power cord of the machine.
1.
Press [Menu].

Press [
] or [
then press [OK].
3.
Press [
] or [
press [OK].
] to select <FAX SETTINGS>,
] to select <RX MODE>, then

Press [
] or [
] to select the receive mode,
then press [OK].
< FaxOnly>: Answers all calls as faxes.
< AnsMode>: Receives faxes automatically and records voice messages.
<NET SWITCH>: Distinguishes between fax and voice calls.
<FaxTel>: Switches between fax and voice calls automatically if the optional
handset or an external telephone is connected to the machine. For optional
settings, see "FaxTel: Optional Settings, " on p. 3-22.
<MANUAL>: Does not answer any calls. You have to manually receive faxes.
See "Manual Reception, " on p. 3-24.
For <FaxTel> or <MANUAL>, make sure the optional handset or an
external telephone is connected to the machine.
For <AnsMode>, make sure an answering machine is connected to the
machine.
The <NET SWITCH> mode is available for certain countries only and
requires subscription to a network switch service.
5.
Press [Stop/Reset] to return to the standby mode.
