Observe Safety Guidelines detailed in the beginning of this manual.
PROBLEMS
(SYMPTOMS)
Major mechanical or electrical
damage is evident.
No welding output and no auxiliary
power.
The engine operates
normally.
If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the tests/repairs safely,
contact the Lincoln Electric Service Department for technical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed.

TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR
POSSIBLE AREAS OF
MISADJUSTMENT(S)
OUTPUT PROBLEMS
Contact
your
Authorized Field Service Facility.
1. Check the brushes for wear and
proper contact to the rotor slip
rings.
2. Check the rotor slip rings, they
should be clean and shiny.
3. Check for 2.5 VDC Flashing
Voltage at the brush holders.
4. P.C. Board may be defective.

Contact the Lincoln Electric Service
Department at 1-888-935-3877.
1. Perform the Rotor Voltage
Test.
2. Clean rings with an "alternator
stone" or clean with fine grit
sand paper.
3. Check for presence of 12 VDC
(at the pc board) from lead
#224 to frame ground. This is
the supply voltage to the board
and is present when the engine
is running and the S3 switch is
in the "Run" position. If the 12
VDC is missing, check the
leads,
connections associated with
the lead #224.
4. If the Rotor Voltage Test is
normal, then perform the Rotor
Resistance Test.
5. If the Rotor Voltage Test is
normal is NOT normal, perform
the
Winding Voltage Test.
6. Jumper the PC Board from the
test pin to lead 219, if output is
restored, and checks 1-5 are
performed, then replace P.C.
