REAR SEAT SPEAKERS-Dual
rear seat speakers are available for
all three radios
except
when in-
stalled in Chieftain Convertible,
Safari and Bonneville models. A
single
speaker,
mounted in the in-
sert in the rear seat back, is used
on Bonnevilles and Chieftain Convertibles. On Safaris, the single rear
speaker is mounted in the right rear trim panel.
The rear seat speaker control is located on the instrument panel and
for
sedan
models rotates through four specific positions for sound
selection. These are:
1. Front Speaker Only.
2. Both Rear Speakers-bass notes subdued.
3. Both Rear Speakers- "in phase" for best overall response.
4. All Speakers-front and rear for maximum fidelity.
The Single Rear Seat Speaker has the following settings:
1. Extreme left position-front speaker only.
2. Center position-front and rear
speakers.
3. Extreme right position-rear speaker only.
Moving the control lever for the single rear seat speaker installation
from left to
'
right causes a gradual fading of the front speaker and an
increase in the rear speaker.
NOTE: With the sportable radio, the rear speaker control is located to the
right of the manual tuning knob if the speaker is factory installed; in the
instrument panel cove if field installed

'ANTENNA- The automatic Elec-
tric Antenna, used as standard in
conjunction with the Eledramatic
Wonder-Bar radio and optional on
the other two radios, is controlled
through the power
switch
in the
radio. With the ignition key in the
ACCESSORY or ON position the
antenna will automatically rise to a pre-set height of 30 inches above
fender level when the radio power is turned
on.
It will also auto-
matically retract to its original position whenever the radio or ignition
switch
is turned off.
