Symptom
Streaked vertical lines
Toner specks
Toner rubs off the paper
easily when you handle
the sheets.
Skewed print
Cause
Toner is smeared before
fusing to the paper.
• The print cartridge is
defective.
• The fuser is worn or
defective.
• Toner is in the paper path.
The Type setting is wrong for
the type of paper or specialty
media you are using.
Guides in the selected tray are
not in the correct position for
the paper size loaded in the
tray.

Solution
If paper is stiff, try feeding from another
tray.
• Replace the print cartridge. See
Replacing the print cartridge.
• Replace the fuser. See
fuser.
• Call for service.
Change Paper Type from Plain Paper to
Bond.
Move the guides in the tray to the proper
positions for the size loaded. See
the trays for detailed instructions on
adjusting the guides in each tray.
