Introduction

Wireless LANs allow mobile computers to communicate wirelessly and to send captured data "real time" to a host device. Before
using a mobile computer on a WLAN, set up the facility with the equipment required to run the wireless LAN and configure the mobile
computer. Refer to the documentation that came with the Access Points (APs) for instructions on setting up the required hardware.
The mobile computer Network Adapter settings configure and monitor the wireless connection. The Mobile Companion icon appears
in the task tray and indicates mobile computer signal strength as follows:
