Brightness
Note--Excessive brightness can shorten tube phosphor life.
You
may wish to measure the three brightness levels with a correctly
calibrated photometer.
See Appendix A for display intensity
measurement information.
Three degrees of brightness can be adjusted:
normal, dim1, and
dim2.
Display test pattern
t' 1
to adjust brightness.
Test pattern M
has three blocks in the middle of the display showing, from left
to right, dim2, dim1, and normal.
Follow these steps:
1.
Slide the brightness slideswitch as far right as possible.
2.
Turn SUB-BRI, VR202 as far clockwise as possible.
You will
see the raster lines on the screen.
3.
Slowly turn VR202 just until the raster is not visible.
4.
Look at the outside brightness blocks.
If dim2 is too
bright or normal is too dark, adjust VR401 until you correct
the problem.
5.
Slide the brightness slideswitch as far left as possible.
6.
Adjust VR204 just until the normal block on the right of the
screen is no longer visible.
Focus
Note--Do not use the focus control to adjust the outer extremities
of the screen.
Some focus distortion happens in any CRT.
