2. UTILITIES AND TOOLS

2.1 CAM_EZ SEARCH

Cam EZ Search is a searching application capable of searching for Max-IP-Cam on the local
network. The application urges all Max-IP-Cams to respond by sending out query packets, and
then displays a list of all Max-IP-Cams available on the network. In addition, Cam EZ allows the
network settings of a designated IP Cam to be changed (such IP address or name). Cam EZ can
be used by following these easy steps:
1. Open Cam_EZ Search application and click on the camera shown in the list.
2. Check to see if the IP addresses from the network are the same as shown in Cam EZ Search:
Click Start > Control panel > Network Connections > Select the Local Area Connection in use
and Right click your mouse on its icon > Select Properties > Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) >
Click on Properties and view the IP address for your computer. If no IP settings are present,
click OK to close any open screens until you return to the Network Connections main screen.
Now Right Click your Local Area Connection again and select Status from the list then Click on
the Support Tab at the top of the window. On this screen under Connection status you will see
the IP Address and Subnet Mask of your network connection and also the address of your
Default Gateway. Take note of these settings for use in the setup of your MAX-IP-Cam as
shown in the following steps:
Step 1: IP: The IP address of the MAX-IP-Cam (for example on a computer with an IP
of 192.168.1.2, the user would have to set the MAX-IP-Cam to an IP address
of 192.168.1.* (* = 1~254 without using a number that is already used).
Step 2: Subnet Mask: Usually set to 255.255.255.0 but ensure it matches the details
you noted in the check of your IP Settings above
Step 3: Gateway: Change to correspond with the Default Gateway settings of the
network (usually the IP address of your Router).
Step 4: HTTP Port: Change to 80
Step 5: Name: The user can rename the MAX-IP-Cam if they wish.
3. After settings are complete, press Submit, and the MAX-IP-Cam settings will take effect.
4. Press Update to update the MAX-IP-Cam details shown in the menu.
Double Left click on the name of your MAX-IP-Cam as shown in the list, and a browser
window will open automatically, displaying the Cam_EZ Search network surveillance feed icon:
