Setting the Screen Mode

Use the procedure described below to set the
output screen.
Each time you touch [ Screen ], the mode
switches as follows:
" 4:3 LB "
Wide-screen software with pan & scan
specification is played in a letter box screen (with
black stripes on the top and bottom).
" 4:3 PS "
Wide-screen software with pan & scan
specification is played in a panned & scanned
screen (with the left and right sides cut off).
" 16:9 "
Set the picture mode of the wide-screen monitor
to "FULL"

Setting the Priority Language for Menu

Set the language used for the menus (title
menu, etc.).
Touch [ Menu Lang ] to switch the language select
screen. <see p.18>

Setting the Priority Language for
Subtitle
Set the language of the subtitles displayed on
the screen.
Touch [ Subtitle ] to switch the language select
screen. <see p.18>
NOTE
The language selected in the initial setup is used
immediately after turning power on or replacing
disc. If the initially set language does not exist in
the disc, the priority language defined for each
disc is used.

Setting the Priority Language for Voice

Set the audio language produced from the
speakers.
Touch [ Audio ] to switch the language select
screen. <see p.18>
NOTE
The language selected in the initial setup is used
immediately after turning power on or replacing
disc. If the initially set language does not exist in
the disc, the priority language defined for each
disc is used.

Setting the Angle Mark Display

With DVDs on which images photographed
from multiple angles are recorded, the angle
can be switched during playback.
Each time you touch [ Angle Mark ], the mode
switches as follows:
" ON "
Angle mark is displayed.
" OFF "
Angle mark is not displayed.

Selecting the Dynamic Range

Each time you touch [ DRC ], the mode switches
as follows:
" Standard "
For more powerful sound at regular volumes
" Midnight"
For powerful sound at low volumes
NOTE
Doing this operation may raise the sound level.
" OFF "
For the regular sound
NOTE
This select can be made when the Dolby Digital
signal is inputed.
