To remove the a mini-GBIC with a plastic tab or plastic collar:
1. Remove the fiber cable from the mini-GBIC.
2. Push in the plastic tab or collar toward the switch until you see the mini-
GBIC release from the switch (you can see it move outward slightly)
3. Pull the mini-GBIC from the slot.
4. If the device is not defective (disposable), insert a dust plug to protect it.
